Face mask with rice banana and honey

Today is a windy and rainy day. 🙁 I thought that a good way to improve my afternoon was to prepare an easy recipe for my skin and take care of myself. Ehm .. but my fridge was almost empty and I didn’t want to go out. So, I just used what I had at home and prepare a fresh face mask with rice banana, and honey. Sounds good and yummy! 🙂

One of my favorite DIY hobbies is definitely preparing a fresh face mask. It’s so easy and doesn’t require much time. Only using ingredients that we can easily find in our kitchen is possible to make bright and tone our skin in just a few minutes. For this recipe, I used only 3 ingredients, that I’m sure everyone has already at home.

Fresh face mask with rice banana and honey | Benefits


Rice is one of my best ingredients. It contains amino acids, vitamin E -B3 -B5, minerals, ferulic acid, allantoin, etc. It has a high concentration of nutrients and for this reason, it is used also in cosmetics.
A way to exploit its properties is to use its water. After cooking rice, don’t throw away the water! It is so full of nutrients and can be really useful for your skin! 🙂

The benefits of the rice water are:

  • nourishes and rejuvenates skin
  • tightens the skin and the pores
  • treating sun-damaged (skin is protected from free radicals)
  • help skin against acne and eczema

Banana is a valid ingredient for DIY face masks. It is full of antioxidants, minerals, vitamins A and C. It reduces inflammations such as acne and eczema and helps to hydrate the skin.


Honey represents also another MUST in face masks! It is a natural antibacterial. For this reason, it’s great for acne treatment and prevention. It is also moisturizing and soothing, so let’s add a tablespoon of honey to your recipe..your skin will thank you!

How to prepare face mask

As I promised, the ingredients are easily found in our kitchen. I used:

  1. Few slices of banana
  2. 2 tablespoons boiled rice water
  3. 1/2 teaspoon of honey


Peel off the banana and mash it with the 2 tablespoons of (cold) boiled rice water.
Now add 1/2 teaspoon of honey and mix all the ingredients.

Apply the mixture to the cleansed face and keep it for 10 minutes. Remove it with freshwater and enjoy the benefits! 😀
