4 Reasons Why You Should Start Your Blog

Hi. Today is a special day for me! Exactly one year ago I published my first post as C6 Beauty. I started my new adventure as Blogger without thinking too much about it. From “it would be nice to create a blog” it passed only a week. With the help of my boyfriend (now husband) we put on the structure for what today is one of my greatest satisfactions. A year later I decided to celebrate this milestone by sharing this post that, unlike my usual ones, wants to show my 4 reasons why each of you should start your own blog today.

reasons blog change

To make a change!

I started my blog to change my habits. Throughout my life I have always made or taken decisions based on my past experiences. Last year, I decided to leave my comfort zone and to throw myself into something completely new. I was not and I am not IT-girl and I’m not even a great writer. English is not my mother tongue but despite my 1000 doubts I have put my articles online. Now I’m excited about it!

reasons blog passion

Working for you and for your passions

Another reason why you should start your own blog is for working on something that is good for you, for something that you really like and are passionate about it. Of course, I respect people who have found a passion in their work, I have not been so lucky. After analysing my previous work, I asked myself “was I happy?”.When you’re looking for a job but the doors are closed, you stop to analyse everything also driven by the situation. I realised that I wasn’t so happy. Often you end up working just for the interests of others and often you are the last of a system that if it no longer needs you, greets you and throws you out. These thoughts have become bigger and bigger and almost priority in my head. I opened my blog to give voice to my thoughts, and to demonstrate first of all to myself that I am able to learn new things and to throw myself headlong into something that gratifies me every day. The thought that my articles are read and commented on stimulates me to continue and this makes me happy!!

reasons learn

Learn

Another reason is to challenge yourself by learning new things every day. Blogging is not only about writing contents that are interesting, but also about promoting them, analyzing data and improving yourself. A year has passed since my first post and the difference in writing and presentation is very evident. Click here to have an eye on it but then come back πŸ™‚ As you will have seen the content was poor and also not very attractive. I’ll be honest, people don’t see it, but I’m not going to delete or modify it. It allows me to use it as reference for my future posts. In this year I learned how to promote my articles in different ways depending on the social used. I learned how to read google Analytics data and listen to people reading my articles. In the last month my blog has been viewed more than 1000 times. It may sound irrelevant for some of you  but this is a super result for me considering that until last year I was absolutely out of this world.

Remember: there is always time and opportunity to reinvent oneself.

earning reasons blog

Earn

Let’s be honest. Having a blog could allow you to earn a few money. I say “a few” because for me now it’s like that. My blog is currently a hobby that allows me to repay my maintenance costs. Nothing more. I’ve decided to make it monetisable since last January. I registered as a self-employed person after payment of the registration fee, and only later I inserted affiliate links or advertising. Yes, because for the moment these are the two ways that allow me to earn something.

  • if you buy something from Amazon after clicking on one of my links
  • if you click on some advertising that shows you Google.

Right now I’m earning only a few cents that certainly do not allow me to be economically independent. But this is normal and to make a blog a source of livelihood you have to work full-time as in all things. The good thing is that being something of yours, it doesn’t tire you but motivates you. Earning a few cents a day motivates me to continue and improve to reach my goals.

  1. Great post. I think writing and blogging was the best thing that could have happened to me this year. It’s great being able to write and hopefully help people.

  2. So inspirational! And what a great milestone to hit. Your blog is one of my faves and im glad to have been with you on this journey ❀️

  3. It is the same story with me as well. I felt like this post described me better. I would not be able to do this without the support of my husband.

The best reward for blogging is the things we will be able to learn by doing it. I really felt quite relatable while reading this. thank you so much for sharing

  4. I totally agree with those things mentioned. I’ve been blogging for a while, and I’ve learned so much from it. Even simple coding, designing and how to write properly in English. The best thing about blogging is that you can help people who’re struggling or just needs a little bit of info on a certain topic.

    Much love, Amanda from smartgirlymindset.com

  5. I love the fact that blogging allows us to focus on the things that we are truly passionate in life while connecting with a whole community of people that share that love. What better way is there to start networking and making money than to do it with something that honestly brings us joy?

  6. Blogging is a great way to explore passions and express creativity. I agree that it also a great way to learn. I find myself researching more, and even improving my writing, photography, web design and marketing skills. I have also ended up taking courses or webinars and it’s fun to learn new skills. I also wanted to add that it can be great to use as a portfolio. Obviously not everyone will want to do this, but a lot of jobs now days want to see your ability to think critically, engage with a lot of different people, and have strong communication skills. Blogging really showcases those abilities.

  7. you’re right! it’s amazing how many new things I’ve learned in this year! Learning by doing is sometimes underestimated

  8. my husband’s help has been crucial. Having someone who believed and encouraged me was a key element. I’m glad it was the same for you too. πŸ™‚

  9. You are right! Own Blog is the best portfolio. Sometimes I mentioned my blog as an example to show my work. I also think that it’s a great way to prove your skills. I definitely should mention it on the post too πŸ™‚

  10. Blogging is a great creative outlet. Congratulations on your milestones, you have done a great job. I have been blogging for a little over a year and hope to monetize it in the new year as I’m newly full time in my freelancing πŸ™‚
